hi

I need to buy a spare part and weld it in to my old golf II 1.6 D. It is a metal body panel that covers the left rear wheel well.
This is rusted through. On the attached pics, the red line shows where i need to cut the existing panel, and weld the replacement in. I will lift the car, take the wheel and suspension off and approach it from there.
I do not know what to order from a spare parts supplier. What is the name of this part?

might want to take to a body shop and see if they can repair it

Are you serious? haha anyways yeah like J said, its definitely not structurally sound like that, potentially dangerous. Your best bet is to have a fabricator or custom car shop cut the old section out and have them fab up a new piece and weld it in...
